Our task was to establish an engaging web presence and provide technical background for project EU-FLYSAFE, a large-scale European initiative of the 6th European Commission Framework Programme that aims to elaborate new means and solutions to increase the safety of air transport. The project gathers the key European organizations of the flight industry, including airlines, airframers, research centers, meteorological centers and universities.
As back-end solution we chose Magnolia, a flexible open-source content management system that enables site administrators to keep all portal contents effortlessly updated. Magnolia CMS allows multi-level menu systems to be created and this feature proved exceptionally helpful in this project, as we had a complex hierarchical site structure to build. Portal layout can be customized solely by modifying style sheets.
Since the experts of our parent company Allied-Visions have a past in military flight and engineering, the project let us exploit our competence in avionics and related areas: we could offer our client a comprehensive content design and management service as well.
