TerraTec-World Distributor Portal

The TerraTec-World CRM portal was the third larger e-commerce platform that we delivered. This time we could utilize several proven technologies developed in the course of the previous projects, regarding mainly the core components of the IBM J2EE-based portal engine. This allowed us to focus on new, innovative solutions, customized to TerraTec's individual requirements.

The interface was given an impressive technical look-and-feel. However, most of the developments affected the functionality. Registered retail partners can find all information at a single location, place their online orders or publish their promotional offers in a convenient way.

A detailed product database comprises all the TerraTec products, along with their respective pictures and descriptions. The selected items can be placed into a shopping cart; the rest is done by a seamlessly integrated payment and delivery system. Each purchase is rewarded with scores (so-called TerraPoints) and the users can trade in their collected scores for various TerraTec gifts. Catalogues and limited POS materials can be ordered on the site for free, and certain discounted products can be used as demo items in the retailer's outlet. TerraTec site can easily handle these three ordering options, while a TerraPoint counter allows the registered users to follow their account.

The most attractive feature of this site is the continuous (hourly) update of stock levels and distributor price lists. This enables retail partners to make a decision based on the latest information.
The site administrator can define a questionnaire with monthly prizes as an attractive menu item to visit. A promotional module that manages 5 or 6 special weekly offers from distributors is also available. Distributors can make their promotional offers in various product categories every week. A reminder is sent out by the portal automatically. Special offers are displayed under the Marketplace menu.

As for the content management, we have installed an IBM Lotus Notes based, rich text enhanced CMS. Portal content can be edited offline in the administration area and then replicated to the live server. Various rights can be assigned to the employees: some are responsible for editing the content, others approve the changes. After the approval loop the content goes live. The entries can be sorted by different target groups, countries or languages.
