VIP-ER: a reporting solution for Logitech
An enterprise-level reporting tool for leading hardware manufacturer Logitech.
Our company was hired to design and implement an enterprise-level
reporting tool for leading hardware manufacturer and long-time partner
Logitech. This application, known as VIP-ER, allows Logitech management
to take a comprehensive and in-depth insight into the current business
flows and sales figures of distributors, generate statistics according
to selected parameters, and sort them by every conceivable category,
like price, dealer, channel, country, date and a lot more. The results
can be displayed in various forms, e.g. tables or charts.
Understanding these figures enables the management to make strategic decisions, identify the sales channels that need to be redesigned or reinforced, analyze business processes, forecast upcoming trends and effortlessly oversee all activities of the affiliated distributors.
Having a decade of experience in IBM Java and J2EE based application development, we chose to implement the BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools) technology as back-end solution. The system is seamlessly integrated with the existing corporate framework. The web-based interface can be accessed from any location.
